Do I need special tool to change oil filter for 94 honda accord ex?

I've changed oil years ago for a different car but never on my honda accord. Oil part is easy, but after reading the owner's manuel saying to use a special tool to remove oil filter, I wasn't sure if I could do it by bare hand. Anybody?Do I need special tool to change oil filter for 94 honda accord ex?
There is a speacial tool, shouldnt be more than 10 bucks at your local parts store that will allow you to remove an oil filter from any car. However, i find that many times im able to twist off the filter by hand on most cars.Do I need special tool to change oil filter for 94 honda accord ex?
There is an inexpensive tool that will help you remove the Honda oil filter. (Or almost any oil filter). It looks like a lid to a glass jar with about 30 notches in it. You push it over the end of the filter and loosen the filter using a 3/8 inch ratchet.

Be very careful not to tighten the new oil filter with anything more than your your two hands. Normally, we install a new filter turning it clockwise until it makes contact with the rubber gasket. Then tighten it an additional 1/3 turn. The next filter change should be possible using your hands only.
I have a 95, and I don't need any special tools. Could a 94 be different. By the way, there have been at least 8 hondas owned by myself, my brothers, and father in the last 20 years, and I've never heard of a special tool being needed.

I do own a tool that I have used when a filter is on too tight. This has happened after going to Jiffylube type places. The tool can be bought anywhere for about 6 bucks. It is nothing special, and you hopefully know what I am talking about.
You shouldn't need any special tool unless it's on too tight. I have a plastic cap that fits over the end of the filter and can put a ratchet in it and unscrew it easily.
Aclamp with a bike chain around it works for evey oil filter I've ever had to remove, you can buy them cheaply from many motoring outlets
