What is the best way to remove a very tight oil filter?

I tighten my Oil Filter waayy to tight. What is the best way to remove a very tight oil filter?
old %26amp; no good replacing it? poke a screwdriver threw it %26amp; use as a handle to turn itWhat is the best way to remove a very tight oil filter?
The srewdriver is a last resort.Go to an automotive tool store and buy oil filter set of pliers or a filter wrench made out of a nylon srap connected to a piece of tube steel that accepts a 1\2 rachet. The latter has better results.Only tighten as tight as you can get it by hand, unless space restricts you from getting good levarge. Then use a wrench, but no more than a quarter turn.
yeah...screw driver if the oil filter wrench won't work.... and the next time... don't tighten it with the wrench... hand tight.. then snug it with the wrench..

That's why I said .. snug... not tighten
I disagree damond... You should NEVER use the wrench to tighten an oil filter back up...
