Is it mandatory to replace oil filter when changing oil?

When changing the oil of a honda crf 80, is it required to change the oil filter as well? Or can I replace the oil and wait another month for the oil filter?Is it mandatory to replace oil filter when changing oil?
nah you should change it the same time. some oil filters you can buy will last for two oil changes. but most people just get the ones you change every time you change the oil. just the way it works. otherwise you'll gunk up the engine because it won't be able to filter properly with a dirty filter.Is it mandatory to replace oil filter when changing oil?
I have a YZ 85. and its best to change them together, otherwise all of the old dirty oil get(from inside the filter) gets mixed in with the new oil and the filter won't filter out the dirt and crud that's in the new oil. so i recommend you definitely change it.
since you're already down and dirty, you might as well take off the oil filter.Most people do it at the same time just because you've already got your tools out there, bike on the stand.





You won't get damage from changing too often, mostly from not enough
It won't hurt but you are leaving some of the old oil with the acids it contains in the system. It is much better to change the filter when you change oil.
