I went to change the oil and for the life of me can't seem to find the oil filter. Is it possible that it just doesn't have an oil filter? I've never heard of something like that, though.Where is the oil filter located on a 98 Toyota Camry LE V6?
it should be on the bottom right hand under the radiatorWhere is the oil filter located on a 98 Toyota Camry LE V6?
If you want to find out for sure where it is , call your local car parts place and they should be able to look it up .
You could also give a call to your nearest Toyota dealer and ask for Service. Someone there should be able to help you.
Good luck.
under the hood... front side of the engine to your left under the hot manifold....careful you dont burn yourself
If you buy some Rhino ramps, safety jack stands and some wheel chocks, then it's safe to go under the car and find it more easily. Also, you'll be able to remove it and the drain plug a lot easier. Rhino ramps are sold in all the auto parts stores for about $30. Buy good jack stands at a price club type warehouse.
It's on the side of the engine, facing fwd, under the exhaust manifold. Easily removed while standing directly in front of the car if the engine is cold and you have the right removal tool.
The first time I tried it, I didn't have the tool, so I used a large vice-grip pliers type tool on it.
