I just changed my oil and forgot to coat the rim of the new oil filter with any oil before I twisted it on and filled it with new oil. Is it a big deal or is that just so it twists on easier?? thanksOil filter?
Putting a light coating of oil on the filter seal make it easier for the filter to come off the next time. When you change your oil next time, make sure to check to old fliter to make sure the seal is not stuck to the engine. If you put a new fliter on top of the old seal (double seal) it will leak. That has happened to me before.
