Can old oil filter be left with new oil?

I'm doing an oil change on my 08 Toyota Corolla. It has about 3,500 miles. I got all the old oil out on the pan but can NOT get the oil filter off. I was thinking of leaving it on and just adding the new oil until the next oil change. Is this a good idea? I don't drive it much. I got it in January with 350 miles and only now it needs the maintenance. Can old oil filter be left with new oil?
THAT CAR IS UNDER FULL WARRANTY, YOU TAKE THAT CAR RIGHT BACK TO THE DEALER. SOMETIMES THE MANU. PUT A SEQUENCE NOTCH ON THAT FILTER, SO THE DEALER CAN TELL IF THE OIL HAS BEEN CHANGE BY A DEALER OR NOT. AND IF THERE IS ANY TROUBLE WITH THAT ENGINE, AND THAT FILTER HAS NOT BEEEN CHANGED BY A AUTH. DEALER, YOU BOUGHTY THE ENGINE. GET TO A DEALERCan old oil filter be left with new oil?
its not the best idea... you cant clean new oil with a filter filled with old oil. your oil is going to go bad a lot quicker than 3500 miles this time around. there should be no reason why you cant get the filter off, they are meant to be hand tight, maybe a little bit more. if its problem of not being able to reach it, all i can say is turn yourself into a pretzel and reach the thing, move whatever you have to to get it out. if its just on too tight, theres a lot of tools you can use to get it off that are actually designed for just that. or if it comes to drastic measures, take a hammer and a screwdriver, pop a hole in the side of the filter, then tap the screwdriver into the hole over and over again so it starts turning itself off of the engine. dont worry about ruining the old filter, you were just going to throw it away anyway. just get that thing off before you mess up your engine. good luck
If it's the first oil change, I would go somewhere to get it off because there may be a lot of bit's in the filter from breaking in the engine. After that, I don't see a problem with changing the filter every other oil change. I would make sure you get a good filter if you do this though.
Rather defeats the object as its the filter that cleans the oil,but a tip that may work.If its a screw on filter and on tight, try wrapping a sheet of sandpaper round the filter, its surprising how much easier it is to spin them off.Good luck
