Would this oil filter for a ford F150 still be good?

well i have a brand new oil filter for my ford f-150, and i got really pissed off and punched the top of it, the black sure grip part that the special tool goes over, well i dented that in, but would it effect the filter or is it good to use? i don't care if its no good i will buy another one for 5 bucks, but i am curious.Would this oil filter for a ford F150 still be good?
NO holes ? You're good to go. What in the h@%% pissed you off enough to punch the filter? I have a '99 150 Lariat, and granted I've had my moments with it but never got that mad to ';punch the oil filter';.:-)Would this oil filter for a ford F150 still be good?
i think that it depends on how dented the casing is and whether or not you messed the threads up. if it is only a little dented then you should see if it will go on easy, do not force it. if it is a really big dent i would just get another filter and think about going to anger management classes.
I would personally use a new filter. Oil filters are designed to have oil flow through them in a certian way to filter the oil . A dent in it may have the possibility to alter this flow or cause a restriction in part of the filter.
Maybe good.Maybe not. You'll find out if you put it on and the car goes OK for 7000 miles and you worry about it all 7000 miles. Get a new filter you don't need to worry about.
As long as their is not a hole in it (like your head) it will be ok. It may just take a little less oil to hit the full mark.
lol taking out anger on betsy the car. anyway with any filter as long as there is no pierced holes the filter is fine
If the truck runs fine, why take a chance, get a new one.
be on a safe side, buy another one.
