The oil filters on Shadows are under the engine on the left rear side. They can be a little difficult to remove. You can do it with a strap wrench or big channel locks, or the Kruyakn filter remover.
Follow wolf_whitefeather's advice concerning the K%26amp;N , it has a 17mm bolt head on it that makes removal a snap, next time out.How easy is it to replace oil filter on Honda 750 Shadow Motorcycle?

spend the eztra money and get a good K%26amp;N filter should be less than $15 and while your at it I always replace fuel and air filters at the same time.
